The Promise of Entering God’s Rest (Hebrews 3:7-4:10)

241020 - The Promise of Entering God's Rest-Heb. 3:7-4:10
Elder Matthew Pickens

This week, we will look at Hebrews 3:7-4:10. This is closely tied to what Pastor Roberts has been preaching on with the focus upon God’s rest. We rarely rest well or properly. First, this passage holds out the promise of rest and we want to understand what is meant by that. Second, this passage gives us the warning that people did not enter God’s rest and warns us how we could also be prohibited from entering that rest. Finally, we want to understand what this rest really looks like with the fourth commandment. I personally do not rest well. I am constantly tired. So how does the promise and command to rest sit upon us and how should we live given this?
