College Student Internship Program
Purpose: The purpose of the internship program is to provide experience to those considering vocational ministry and seminary. We want to help students to discern God’s calling on their lives and to be equipped for ministry leadership.
Approach: The internship combines hands-on ministry and study. The internship can be crafted to suit the interests of the candidates but we envision experience with:
Children’s Ministry (called Covenant Kids)
Student Ministry (middle and high school students)
Mercy Ministry (serving families in need through the UpCounty HUB)
Main Worship Service (serving with the Deacons to prepare the worship service and assisting the Elders in ministering the liturgy and preaching)
In addition to hands-on ministry, we would like students to expand their theological knowledge by reading books such as:
Church History by Simonetta Carr
Basic Christianity by John Stott
Encouragement: The Key to Caring by Larry Crabb
Timeframe: The internship is nine months from September to May.
Responsibilities: Interns are asked to attend the Sunday morning when they have specific responsibilities. Interns are asked to meet with Pastor Matt on a regular basis to discuss the readings and to debrief their experience.
Compensation: Interns are paid $4,000.00 total for the internship. This breaks down to $444.44 paid at the end of each month.
