The Meaning of the Lord’s Supper - 1 Corinthians 11:17-34

This Sunday we have six teens professing faith in Christ, joining the church, and partaking of the Lord's Table for the first time.  To mark this occasion, I will preach a sermon on the meaning of the Lord's Table.  On one hand, it seems that there are endless things to say both theologically and historically about the bread and wine of communion.  Yet, on the other hand, Jesus's purpose for the meal is simple and straightforward.  The bread and wine of communion are means that the Holy Spirit uses to impress the richness of Christ's love upon us, to build community among believers, and to renew our covenant with God.  This Sunday we'll learn what it means to "feed" on Christ by faith.
