Jesus explains the human story Matthew 19:28
Many of us have wondered why the world is the way that it is. Why is it such a mixture of joy and sorrow, satisfaction and frustration? We also wonder about where history is headed. Will our world end in environmental catastrophe, a devastating war, or something else?
Thankfully, Jesus answers all these questions. Jesus teaches that God created the world perfect. Selfishness, disease, pollution, war, and death are intrusions into God’s good world. The miracles of Jesus’s earthly ministry were a foretaste of the healing of all things. Jesus’ death and resurrection reconcile us to God and bring us into the last days. We await the day that God will bring this age to a close, usher in the New Heaven and New Earth and “wipe away every tear from their eyes” (Revelation 21:4). This framework can be understood under four headings: Creation, Fall, Redemption, and Consummation. Join us this Sunday as Jesus explains the human story.
