Easter Sunday: Jesus’ Anticipation (Mark 8:31, 9:30-32, 10:32-34)

March 31, 2024- In Mark’s Gospel, thrice Jesus states that he will rise after being killed.  The implications of our acceptance or rejection of His words are massive.  If true, Jesus’ resurrection transforms this mortal life and orients us to eternal life.  It is literally the best news we’ve ever heard.  If false, Christianity is a terrible lie and a total waste of time.

Our skeptical hearts wonder if these predictions and the later resurrection accounts are (at best) wishful thinking or (at worst) deliberate deceptions by Jesus’ followers.  Yet, the historic evidence for Jesus’ physical and bodily resurrection from the dead is compelling.  This Sunday, we’ll weigh it carefully.  After the evidence is weighed, we’ll unpack the implications.  Again, Jesus’ resurrection from the dead has untold ramifications on your life.  It is truly the best news you’ve ever heard.
